Optional analytics
Optional Acquisition Measurement
Only after you allow optional analytics, a random browser identifier and a supported campaign source, medium and campaign label are stored on your device for up to 30 days. We record first visits, demo steps, verified signup and activation, and solver request/result milestones. Activation means a completed saved Career hand after consent. Paid-conversion measurement requires a positive live invoice for a recognized subscription; checkout redirects, trials and complimentary grants are not payment confirmation. We do not collect raw campaign strings, referrer URLs, names, emails, cards or typed content for this tracker. If you create an account during this period, we link the identifier at account creation; returning signed-in accounts may link their first consented visit and record email verification to measure signups and current paid-plan uptake by source. The signup trigger confirms verification for signup-linked visits; returning visits do not backfill earlier signup or activation. This link survives verification on another device. Only aggregate reports are available to the owner; known staff/test accounts are excluded. Data is retained for up to 90 days and removed by scheduled maintenance; deleting an account removes its linked acquisition records. Opting out below or using Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control stops new tracking and removes the browser identifier. Withdrawing while signed in also stops later account-linked invoice attribution until a signed-in browser gives a new explicit grant. Marketing email consent is separate.
Optional Marketing Emails
Marketing emails include PokerStick training tips, product updates and special offers. The signup interest box is checked by default, but does not grant consent. You must explicitly confirm your marketing subscription after verifying your email, or enable it in Settings. Consent is optional, separate from your account terms and analytics choices, and does not affect access. We record your email, choice, consent wording and version, source and time, plus later preference changes. Only opted-in, verified email addresses are eligible for campaigns. Existing accounts are excluded unless they opt in. Change your choice in Settings or use the unsubscribe link in a marketing email without signing in. Essential account, security and billing emails are separate. We retain consent history while your account is active to respect your choices and document permission; account deletion removes these records. Email delivery providers process campaign data on our behalf.
Private Coaching & Student Workspace
Accepting a coaching invitation shares your practice totals with that coach and allows them to assign exercises. From the Student tab you may explicitly share individual completed Career hands, including your cards, board, visible action history and question. Coaching discussions, weekly notes, selected-example links, flags, replies and assignment status are stored privately for the two participants; they are not Community posts and do not expose billing details, passwords, private notes or your entire hand history. Either participant can end a relationship. Disconnecting deletes its assignments and shared-hand discussions and removes coach access; withdrawing one shared hand deletes that discussion and removes its selected-example links without deleting your original hand. Separately written weekly coach notes remain visible to you until the coach clears them or the relationship ends. Coaches may have retained copies outside PokerStick that we cannot retract. Coach feedback appears in the app; email notifications are not currently sent. Legacy catalog assignment completion is student-reported. Verified price assignments require separate consent before starting; they share the served questions, first answers, accuracy, timestamps and completion with the assigned coach. Range reasoning and opponent observation assignments also require separate consent. We retain first explanations, arithmetic answers where applicable, appended student revisions and coach review history. Observations reference public opponent actions in individually shared completed hands; withdrawing a hand deletes its observation, revisions and selected-example links and removes that completion credit. Range arithmetic totals contribute to optional expanded activity sharing; observation text does not. After disconnection, your account retains example identifiers, observation hand identifiers and first-seen times to prevent repeat credit, while the assignment and its answers are deleted. Expanded activity sharing is optional and off for existing connections: when enabled, the coach sees activity dates, a UTC-day streak, and weekly completed Career/Trainer hand and arithmetic totals, including other assignments. You can disable expanded sharing from the Student tab without disconnecting; it does not withdraw separately consented assignment results or selected hand discussions. Previously displayed or copied information cannot be retracted.
Private Coach Library
Saved assignment templates and work filters belong to the coach account. They store a name, exercise version and fixed rules, reusable instructions, relative due-date preference or filter/search/sort settings, and revision timestamps. They do not automatically copy student lists, hand records, assignment answers or weekly notes. Text you enter may contain personal details; names, instructions and search text are included when you explicitly export a file. Imports are previewed before saving; applying a template fills an assignment form without selecting students or creating assignments. Deleting a saved resource removes its saved text and retains only its identifier, type, account, version and timestamps to prevent an old retry recreating it. Existing assignments and exported copies remain unchanged. Saved resources survive student disconnection and membership expiry; Coach access is required to use the saved library, and account deletion removes its resources.
Referral Partners
Partner applications store your public name, promotion plan, eligibility and terms confirmations, and the human reviewer’s decision. When referral enrollment is active, a signed referral link or code can associate a new account with an approved partner. Remembering a referral before signup uses browser storage only if you choose it, for up to 30 days; we do not fingerprint visitors to match devices. You can remove a selected referral at signup or before the first checkout. After signup, the account association can work across signed-in devices. We retain the attribution, accepted terms, payment references, commission amounts, refunds and review history to administer the program and resolve disputes. Partners see aggregate attributed-account counts and their own commission entries, not customer names, emails, payment details or practice records. Referral attribution does not grant coaching access. Authorized administrators can review attribution and reconcile payment evidence. The application does not collect partner bank details or tax IDs. Financial and audit records may need to be retained after account deletion under applicable obligations. Enrollment and payouts remain inactive until readiness is verified.
Nickname Support Requests
When you request a nickname change, we store your account reference, current and requested nicknames, reason, request time, decision, reviewing admin and support response. Only you and authorized support staff can view your request; other players see only your current approved nickname. We keep this history while your account is active to handle requests and audit identity changes. You can see recent request status in Player preferences. Automated safe-for-work checks may reject names; contact support@pokerstick.app if you believe a name was incorrectly blocked.
Leaderboards & Public Nicknames
Leaderboards let signed-in PokerStick players compare play-money Career results. New signup forms default to inclusion and clearly show a switch to turn it off before account creation. Existing accounts without this choice remain excluded until they opt in. When included, your chosen public nickname, rank, current virtual bankroll, BB/hour, decision-quality score, completed-hand and decision counts, and recorded play-time totals may be visible to other signed-in players across selectable time ranges. Your email address, account ID, payment details and individual hand histories are not included in leaderboard responses. Use a nickname rather than your legal name. Nicknames must be unique, ignoring capitalization and separators, and safe for work. They are selected and locked at first startup.
Changing Leaderboard Visibility
Turn leaderboard inclusion off in Player preferences or on the Leaderboards page. Nickname changes require a support request and admin approval. Opting out removes you from new leaderboard responses immediately; an already-open page may display the previous result until its next refresh, normally within one minute while visible. We do not keep public historical leaderboard snapshots. Your private Career records remain saved for your own progress, and opting back in can include earlier retained Career results. We cannot retract screenshots another player has already taken. Your leaderboard choice is separate from optional analytics and does not affect gameplay, membership, or daily practice limits.
Beta Feedback
Feedback submissions store your account reference, selected app area and category, message, timestamps, status and any administrator reply. Only you and the authorized administrator can read your submissions. Admin replies appear on the feedback page, without automatic email notifications. Do not include passwords, payment information or other players’ private information. We retain submissions to investigate issues and follow up. Contact support@pokerstick.app to request deletion. Rate limits use account-linked submission counts. Optional analytics tracks feedback opens and successful submissions using only selected categories, not message text, emails or identifiers, and respects analytics opt-outs and browser privacy signals.
Complimentary Membership Links
When you claim a promotional membership, we store the campaign, your account identifier, claim time and expiry to enforce one claim per account and the campaign limit. The administrator can see campaign capacity and redemption totals. Claims do not start a paid subscription or automatically renew.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, and account credentials when you register. We also collect usage data automatically: pages visited, hands played, decisions made, session duration, and device/browser information.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: (a) provide and improve the Service; (b) generate personalised coaching, leak detection, and drill recommendations based on your decision history; (c) send transactional emails (account confirmations, billing receipts); (d) send marketing emails only when you explicitly opt in.
Decision & Training Data
Your poker decisions, hand history, and performance data are stored to power the coaching engine, leak dashboard, and drill recommendations. This data is associated with your account and is not sold to third parties.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with: (a) service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, payments, email delivery) under data processing agreements; (b) law enforcement or regulators if required by law. Community hand posts are public within the platform — you control what you submit.
Cookies
Essential cookies maintain your sign-in session. Vercel Web Analytics measures aggregate page views and product milestones, not advertising cookies. Our custom events exclude names, emails, cards, bankrolls, hand IDs, and invitation tokens. Query strings and sensitive paths are stripped before sending. You can allow or withdraw analytics below; browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals are also respected.
Optional Active-Time Measurement
For signed-in players who have explicitly allowed optional analytics, we estimate time spent in each app section while the page is focused and recently used. We store your account ID, the section, the minute, and an active-time total capped at 60 seconds per minute across tabs. We do not record screens, typed text, cards, or exact interaction events. Only aggregate section and daily totals are shown in the owner-only dashboard. Records older than 90 days are excluded from reports and removed during analytics maintenance. The analytics preference below and browser privacy signals also disable this tracker.
Hardware Orders
If hardware preorders are open and you place an order, Stripe processes payment and collects your order email and shipping address. We use these details for receipts, development and shipping updates, delivery, support, and refunds. Payment card details are handled by Stripe, not entered into PokerStick pages.
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting support@pokerstick.app. Billing records may be retained for up to 7 years as required by law.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to: access your personal data; correct inaccurate data; request deletion; object to certain processing; request a copy of your data in a portable format. Contact us at support@pokerstick.app to exercise these rights.
Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted data storage, HTTPS for all data in transit, password authentication managed by Supabase. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong unique password for your account.
Children
The Service is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it promptly.
